Rust on NEW Boost valves and separator plate.

Damn humidity!

What's the best way to clean the rust off? 000 or 0000 Steel wool? Do I need to take any extra precautions when doing so? Thanks!

Thanks Mark!

i assume that you meant it shouldN'T hurt ;)

And now the question is, should I just install the PR System, or both the shift kit AND PR System?.....My trans currently has a trans-go kit. the trans shifts hard at part throttle but only firm under boost.

Hmmm...New thread? :)

Thanks!

Well, I figure the PR system doesn't look that difficult. Just didn't want to F anything up by removing the VB to install the shift kit. I'm satisfied with the trans "as-is" but I'd like it to shift even harder than it does now. :D

Well only you know your capabilities and limitations, who's kits are they?

PR System and shift kit from PTS.

They've been sitting for a while. I should have sprayed some WD-40 on them. :)

That's what I tought, at least you know you have the best tech help to go along with it, if you need help. Altough right now might not time for PTS with the move but either way, you will get help if needed. Did you do the trans go? if you did and you have an ATSG manual, you should be ok with putting this one in.

I bought the rebuilt trans a while ago from another board member who races in TSM. It is supposed to be a beefed up trans. The trans-Go kit was already in it. The only thing that I have done to it, is to replace the non-lockup valve, with one that locks up, as well as install the o-ring on the input shaft and install a new TCC Solenoid.

I've done two TH-350 shift improver kits in the past.....and I don't think I have an ASTG manual. I do however, have (what looks like) a reprint of a factory manual, as well as a 2004R "Principles of Operations" book. :o :)
