I'm about to take a trip and I was wondering if it would be ok to put some clorox in my black water tank and let it swish around and clean it until I get parked and flush it out. Anyone every tried that or similar?

I have a friend that does that...not sure of the mixture %.....or if its working....but he has had no problems with the tank

Thats perfectly acceptable. Just make sure you dilute it with some water. I use the stuff they sell at walmart. Just cant remember the name of it.

What I do when I WANT TO CLEAN the tank,is use the stuff from WAL-MART it's called OXY-KEM.When I'M ready to leave I'LL dump a bag of ice, some water,& the OZY- KEM,so when your going down the road,it's doing a better job until it melts

i wouldn't use clorox, because of the sensors(they don't work in most rv's anyway, or none that i've owned. clorox is just too corosive. you've got your gate valve seals, sensors, pipe connections. use the enzymes, i like the ice idea also. if you do use bleach, i wouldn't use much- 1/2 cup at most, with 4 gals or so of water.
