where can i get the s-10 wheel cylinders at? i got the bendix part number from gnttype.org. but none of the parts stores around here sell that brand. they only sell raybestos and wagner brake parts. or if anyone knows the part number for any of these brands. thanks

Just ask the parts guy that you want wheel cylinders for a 84-87 Chevy S-10 with manual brakes. Simple as that. It should cost you no more that $20 each. If you tell them by part number that it might be harder to find if they don't cary Bendix. Any brand will do.

I bought my wheel cylinders and soft rear shoes from Cotton Performance.

Just buy the cheapest organic pad for the rear for our cars but you will have to buy two sets and use two of the longer ones.

My mostly stock T held 4 or 5 lb with stock brake setup, and now 10 lb boost with the wheel cylinders and soft shoes. Not sure if you need the soft shoes to achieve this. I did not have the drums turned so it took about 30 miles till it would hold the boost. I tried a 10 lb launch and realize I need some boxed LCAs. One bad thing is the brakes grab hard and fast now, and will tend to lock up the rear wheels if you are not careful. Something to consider. I just installed this system on my GN with alum drums, but have not driven it yet since I am upgrading the front suspension at the same time.

If you are trying to hold a lot of boost on the line, then why not upgrade to 11" rear drums. A&D Auto in Jackson New Jersey can sell you the whole set up and I can guarantee it will be a much larger improvement than the S-10 cylinders on the stock 9" rear drums.

I can hold 12lbs of boost with the bigger wheel cylinders and the softer shoes. With the original set up could barely hold 5lbs of boost.
