I can't give them all thumbs down. The rear fillers lined up nicely and except for the drivers side where their is a rubber grommet coming out of the quarter for the lights that needed clearanced (the ABS unit is too wide there) with a Dremel they measure out and fit about as good as the stockers. The fronts would have been fine too except one thing. I didn't check the drivers side but the passenger side measures 17 1/8" in ABS. Well it is too short! I phoned them today to let them know they will be returned and tonight I took measurements compared to the stocker GM piece I just took off. I was surprised that all hole spacing and dimensions checked out perfect except the length from inner most (by grill) to outer most (fender) where the stocker measured 18"  So basically it is 7/8" too short. I made a drawing tonight comparing the two and showed the difference in sizing but I also decided to just drop my old one in the box just in case:D First it was the Kirban front bumper being off and now this:mad: Where is the quality control?  I am glad these vendors are going to send me "fitting" replacements but with a few checks before putting them in the box this could have been avoided. I am confident these will work and look nice when done but until then I just have to grin and bear it.

What a bunch of ****!

Out of all my dealings I think this one takes the cake! I sent the fronts back that were the wrong size yesterday. Before I did though I called S&K to see if I could get their UPS number to send them back under (they get better deals than I!) to which he said "no, just send them US Mail". I told him it would cost a decent amount so I would like my cash back (their screw-up here!). This guy said "oh it will only run $2.00 or so". I figured that wouldn't be too bad so I went in to drop them off. Due to the package size my options were $17.00 Parcel Post, $15.00 FedEx and $19.00 UPS. I sent them FedEx for $15.00. I just called him to let him know I sent them back but would like my shipping money refunded. His reply was "how much"? I told him and he said "no way" I told him that it was more to send them US Mail-Parcel Post than the way I did. He says "you must have sent them wrong" No, they were sent the only way I could. He said "did you send them in the original box?" Yes, I did. That is the problem:confused: I had placed the fronts with my original in the box so he could see with his own eyes the difference in length. He then questions them even being wrong and doubted what I was saying. I told him I sent the original for just this purpose! He expected me to re-box them in something smaller (couldn't have used anything much smaller than what was there) and send them back. Then the next thing he gave me was he doesn't make any money on them and can't refund the shipping charge. I told him it was his mistake, not mine and I just want my shipping charges back. That is when it started to get heated. He then agreed to send me $7.50 (I felt like we were playing lets make a deal). At this point I was steaming so I told him if he couldn't refund it all I would refute the charges on my card. He says "fine, send the rears back too". I want to keep them, they actually fit. Besides that I know I would lose the shipping on them too! I know if I refute it the rears will have to go back. What to do:confused: It shouldn't be this way when it was their bad dimension part to begin with:mad: Any suggestions?

u should be able to disbute only the cost of the front ones...when you send the letter in to the card company just explain that the rears are fine but the fronts dont fit your car and they wont refund you

I will call S&K back to see if they can credit me for the fronts but the shipping is probably lost. Sucks!

Note to all vendors out there: Don't screw Intercooler! He WILL make it public! :D

And rightly so.

So the guy said he's not making any money on them huh? That would pretty much defeat the purpose of selling wouldn't it?

Call him back & tell him that you've made it known on several message boards how he does business. Maybe refunding that shipping charge won't seem like a bad idea then.:)

better than a company telling you they will do something for you if you ship your product to a company for testing ..then after you ship 2 heavy products across the country to have them tell you tuff luck

I called him back at lunch to see what we could iron out. He still said he would only spring for half of the shipping. According to him from what he said "I had to pay for shipping them to you then you want me to pay for your shipping back plus the shipping on the correct ones I am sending back out". I just said hell yes, at least most companies do it this way when it is their F-up. Then he started to kick me in the nuts about sending my original back with the bad ones for comparison. I told him it is a damn good thing I did IMO because you are trying to call me a liar about what I got with my measuring tape and the actual filler off my car will prove my point. Then he comes back with some crap saying my one single front filler weighs X amount of pounds more than the plastic and that is the reason shipping is so much. I even put a drawing in the box to give you the dimensions. I agreed to just take the half shipping back and just write him off my list of preferred vendors. It is a real shame too, if it wasn't for the bad dimension filler and this crap they put out a decent product (like some others we know of) but how they handle this situations is what sets a good or bad one apart.

Tried to fit the "fixed" front fillers today and the one they worked on is still 1/8" too short:mad: Checked the driver side and it is like the passenger side was the first time I sent it back (7/8" off). Now I have to argue with this ****head that I want to send them back for a refund, period!!! He had agreed to put $7.50 in a company check inside for half my shipping costs. That was not there either!!  STAY CLEAR OF THESE GUYS AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Intercooler, I had a lot of the same troubles with this same vendor, fit of fillers and not wanting to fess up when I called him on it. I was able to slot the pre-drilled holes to get them to fit. They required a few hrs work to get them where they needed to be before I could paint them. you may want to try this also. If not go get the GM fronts, they can be bought for under $30 each.

Well guys, I purchased my S&K rear fillers before reading this post. I had orginally created a new thread on this subject and got decent replies.

I should have done a search as well.

Mine showed up today. The gap where the two meet near the license plate is way off. They cut it crooked. Workmanship is horrible.

I am going to pull the bumper tonight for a test fit just to see what it looks like.

I got a set of fiberglass rear fillers from someplace in Florida (Not S&K I think). I was pleasantly surprised. I've had the opinion that most/all aftermarket parts are junk, but while these certainly aren't GM quality, they are a nice piece for the price.

Are the abs fillers plyable like the stockers? Also what does a set of rear abs fillers cost compared to a set from GM? I heard the GM's are expensive but never heard what they actually cost.

It make me sick to look at my car and see only little brittle broken peices of plastic where the fillers use to be. I have been reading any posts I see pertaining to them and there are pros & cons for both abs & fiberglass, so what do you do? Hopefully you don't go through the same crap Intercooler is now going through.

It is ashame that there is so much trouble and aggrevation associated with a couple peices of plastic. Why can't GM sell them at a reasonable price? All we want to do is keep a great car they made for four years still looking great.

I guess I will just continue to keep cleaning up the vomit in my garage until I save up enough to purchase the GM's. :(

Have a happy 4th of July.

gm rears are 349.00 ea (or at least they were in the spring , not sure if they are even still available)

i went with the danko set and even though i had to grind some at the bumber bottoms (becuase they dont flex like the oe they bend the hole part if they rub)
and dispite a rather sloppy look in the box they look fine and with a little prep would look great
i bought the full kit so I also got the fronts , I had a set of gms for the front but figured i would save them due to all the recent parts being discontued , to my surprise once installed the danko fronts look better than the rears and i only need to drill the holes out to install ( i used a small pointed stone in a dremel which also came in handy to grind the areas where the bottom contacted the bumper ), and you dont need to remove the bumper to install them.

The S&K's are plyable, but no where near the stockers. The Stockers are also injection molded, the S&K's are made from vacuum formed sheet, bonded together in the corners. Therefore, the hidden areas have nowhere near the detail of the factory parts, but once installed will work and look OK and provide some plyability.

The S&K people need to Rework their dies. Their design apears to be from a repaired, broken stocker that had a hard life and came off a wrecked car (rather than from a idealized brand new piece). I put a set on 4 years ago on my T and it had exactly the same fitup problems that I had fitting one to my GN last weekend. The Bolt holes should be spaced + or - .050" while I had to take .500" out of some to get them to fit.

how hard could it be to make a fixture that properly spaces the holes?

My S&K rear fillers are about as plyable as fiberglass. The are not plyable like the OEM's.

It's hard plastic. Just as mentioned above, I am not sure why they don't pour the plastic in a mold to make the whole thing. The rear fillers have four peices to them. There is the long peice that covers from the license plate to the end of the bumper and the the peice that angles goes down from there. The two are molded together. Turning it over, you can see the puddy or bonding agent that they used to join the two together.

I will take some pics tonight and post them on my webshots site listed in my signature.
