Not to mention one of the code problems with the aftermarket ecms, is that they don't add any full, based on time, when in WOT.
As you thermally staturate the engine, self-ignition, and indicated leaness, occur. Self ignition = pre-ignition/detonation.
Most chassis dyno runs aren't even close to loading an engine long enough to represent a 1/4 mile pass.
When folks talk dynos, IMO, the too often confuse what the oems, and pro teams do, and equate it with what a chassis dyno gets you. Even the oems still take the cars out, and drive them with the *final tune*, to be sure the tune is correct when it''s actually in-car. For the smaller teams, they're used to note TRENDS, and then that info., is saved.
