Howdy,

What do ya'll think the safe boost limit would be with an upgraded exhaust housing stock turbo with no intercooler on a 7.9:1 compression 4.1 with a 212/212 roller cam and 1.65 roller rockers? I do have total control over the timing and fueling tables, a Wideband O2 and knock sensor for tuning the combination pretty tight. The intercooler to fit my Riviera is going to have to be a totally custom piece and I don't have the time or the budget to put that together now so I'm planning on running it without an intercooler with a very low boost setting to help move the heavy car with a bit more confidence. I'm thinking 8psi on 91 octane.

Thanks,

The 84-85 hot air cars could run 17-19 psi, I think, with a little more compression. The charge air temp was pretty hot so the air density was lower than the intercooled cars at 12-14 psi. With the bigger motor you may not be able to go that high but I have to believe 10-15 psi easily.

I also have ported heads but a stock intake. I think I'll keep it around 8-10 till I get the intercooler just to be safe. Thanks for the vote of margin of error.
