Same problem over and over!

Out of every problem I have had on this car the one problem that keeps haunting me over and over again is?! The damn voltage light not comming ON!

So I'm pretty sure it's the alternator now! (Autozone) .
So I drove the car a week straight to work and by the end of the week the voltage light will come on and than off With key on?
Volt light will flicker while driving And cause it to charge and discharge?
So it did it a couple of days like that and the alternator will get very hot! And now the light will not come back on now with key on!

Now I'm thinking the regulator is getting to hot and burning out?! It's a 120amp alt
But if I put my field fix kit on it will charge the car but the alt will get very hot?! Where it will boil water!
Any ideas

It sounds to me like a possible short causing the voltage to drop and overloading your alternator.
Inspect wires for rubbing on metal or insulation melted away by a hot surface.
