"Saudis Promise to Increase Oil to U.S."

Why did it take so long for our administration to do something about oil availability? This isn't about Bushbaby so dont make it, its about policy. It will be real interesting to see what happens to the price of gas at the pump.
I personally think the price of gas has been manipulated by the oil companies.

We don't control oil production.

Takes diplomacy to get the towel heads to help the US.

I prefer the gun to the head method myself.

If a Democrat were Prez. I would think the Saudis would have got right to it stepping up production when the Oval Office ran out of special lube.

I agree 100%.We are getting friggin stroked by the oil companies right now...I read a couple of weeks ago that oil had just reached $40/barrel,finally reaching the high we had during the first gulf war.So someone please tell me why gas was $1.40/gallon then and it's $2.50 now:confused:

it ain't the oil cos. kids.....

it is the lack of refinery capacity (we haven't built a new one since the 70's)

the "special" blends required by various regions

and world wide demand

(this isn't to say Exxon isn't gonna make money, but they do not control the price of gas, oil, or anything else)

the price of a barrel of oil is determined by the commodities markets, and that is an emotional process, just like the stock market

That's true,I read something about that recently as well...when ya gotta re-tool 50 times to make all of the spaz blends for every big city it gets kinda labor intensive...

ga$

Hey all I wanted was a coke! But it's over $4.00 a gallon. Milk is over $2.69 a gallon. And don't forget the shrinking food packaging! Everyone just make sure you raise your pricing 20-40% to oil company employees and executives on a daily basis. :)

Check the oil companies earnings statements and tell me that we are not being r*ped! Shortage of refineries, who's responsible for that? WE are being manipulated!
