Scan master question

I have an 84 hot air I upgraded the coil ignition upgrade along with the 86 87 computer I read online and I found some contradictory information can I upgrade to a scan Master unit also could someone please explain to me what the scan Master would actually do or if I would get any benefit from it being that I do not have an intercooled engine

In hindsight I wish I would have got an intercooled one I'm just having a heck of a Time with the hot air set up

A scanmaster gives you real time inputs that the computer is "seeing" like o2 cross counts, what the maf is "seeing", the long and short term fuel trims, coolant temp and others.

Most of the aftermarket is geared toward the intercooler equipped cars so the hot air units are more challenging. But an engine is and engine and turbos are turbos so there is plenty of data and info on these types of go fast stuff. Just have to do the work and study up on how things might be done with your budget and mechanical ability. And I want to encourage you to do your own work as there are plenty of sad stories on here and elsewhere that chronical poor outcomes when handing over hard earned money to a "guru" or other that has big claims yet fails to deliver on those promises.
