No need just use a paperclip in the aldl and count the clinking lights......oops nots sure which two to plug the paperclip into, Checkers will tell you what codes are registered for FREE I believe at least they did back home........

actually, I already checked the codes that way and am pretty sure that I have a 15 and a 22, but being that these supposibly mean that the voltages on the temp and TPS are wrong, I was hoping to use a scan tool to help in determining just what is causing the errors. Hopefully fixing these will help with my no-start situation.

Kay, here is where I am at. I have spark at all the plugs, and am getting fuel injector impulses at all the injectors (checked with noid light). I've set and reset the cam sensor with the casper's tool as per the directions. I replaced the ignition module and coil pack, spark plug wires, plugs, crank sensor, and injectors. Yet I still can't get the car to start. The engine has just been rebuilt, but when I got the engine, I found that the wiring harness had been cut where it goes through the firewall. I soldered the wires back together, but in doing so, accidentally switched the 10 volt black wire going to the convertor solenoid and the TPS/CTS/IAT ground wire. I corrected my mistake, and cleared out the error codes by adjusting the TPS but the car still won't run. Could it be a bad MAF?? I would like to check the car with a scan tool like Direct Scan or something. If any of you guys can help me out, let me know. I am all out of options.

Jon:mad:

Yeah, I have spark for sure. I read a little over 40 psi on both my mechanical and digial fuel gauges. Every time I pull the plugs they have fuel on them. It is driving my nuts:confused:

It used to fire enough to almost kick over. Then the coil pack got so hot it leaked. I replaced both the coil pack and the ignition module with ones from NAPA. Since then it hasn't fired nearly as well. I exchanged the units 3 times with no change. Some have told me that only the AC Delco units work really well, but being that I have spark and fuel it seems that the unit is working fine. I would like to try an AC Delco unit to see if it makes any difference, but don't want to buy another just to find that I am still in the same spot. I also thought that it might have been the injectors getting clogged, so I bought a new set - but still no difference. So now I have two sets of 72 lb injectors. I went ahead and bought a Direct Scan unit and am going to see if that helps diagnose the problem. I would still really like to test an AC Delco, ign module and coilpack though.

I checked the voltages from the ign module at the ecm and I am only get about 5 volts from both my crank and cam wires. I am pretty sure that these voltages are set by the module and am beginning to think that what i've been told about non AC Delco modules being shady, might just be truth. Sound plausible? Does anyone have a module/coilpack that I can swap in quick to test. I'm getting too broke to keep replacing good parts.

I remember mine was like .25 off TDC or something like that, you used the cam setting tool RIGHT? Who rebuilt it? Synder's Waipahu did mine and Walt's Performance did the R/R of the Engine......good luck
