Scanmaster 2.1 - HELP

Just hooked a Scanmaster 2.1 in my '87 GN. Disconnect negative battery cable. Red to positive ingnition, black to ground and white to orange wire on ALDL connector. Connect negative battery cable back up, turn on key and Scanmaster is very faintly flashing " 2.1 ." Anyone have any ideas what might be wrong? Thanx,

Double check all your connections and make sure your batt is charged if she's been sitting at all, the first thing it shows on boot is the version number (2.1) so maybe it is hanging with a bad connection? Would just be the first spot I check, here's the power up;
