Scanmaster acting wierd???

When on the coolant temp frame, what would cause my SM to flash "HOT", then seem to convert the temp from F* to C*??? I know good and well the coolant temp was 162* when it was doing this! Another problem, it seems to be re-setting itself at the end of a pass, or showing some kind of eronious numbers???
Any ideas???? TIA

possibly when it reads hot hot hot it is the air inlet temp sensor--
i know nick's car did this a few years ago in the sweltering heat

lets hard wire that sucker so it wont shut off after a pass- new ends, new source of power, new ground and see if that fixes it-
