scanmaster on 84-85

will a scanmaster work on a 84-85 or is turbolink the only source for a scan tool, with out doing the 86-87 ecm conversion etc.. ?

i have a spare 86-87 ecm btw

Scanmaster will only work on 86/87 ecms. Turbolink will work on all years but has very limited information when used on 84/85. It does not use the same screen used for 86/87. An OTC 4000 will also work on 84/85 ecms and actually has more available information than Turbolink for them years. Just the OTC gives you a few lines at a time that you have to scroll through. I have used Turbolink and OTC 4000 on both ecms.
