Scanmaster Range

What is the range of knock the scanmaster can read, or what is the max it can display.I am not asking what will happen if it reads max knock,just what can the scan tool read max?

if I remember correctly, the max retard is 45 degrees. This is what the data maximum is.

The ECM has a max retard limit internally that is different, so even if the retard goes to 45 on the scanmaster, it is limited in the ECM to something like 20.

So when is reads 3.6,that is the proper decimal point then?Then 23.4 is possible?The reason I ask is I only see one spot before the decimal and one after ,so I thought it could read a max of 9.9, as their is not 2 numbers before the decimal.I was waiting for the wife to come out of the coffee shop and started looking at the display and was curious.I know I should have gone in for a coffee also Thanks for the input Bob

Normally the scanmaster reads 0.0 on the retard side

If the reading exceeds 9.9 then the additional digit is activated. It will read to 45.0

Thanks for the replies,I have seen3-5 on the gear change etc. and that freaked me out at first.I know NO Knock:wink:I was just curious about the other digit on the scan toolThanks again
