....I hear 'ya man! Same type of situation happened to me as well. I found out today that I will not get my bonus this year either (about 5 figures). Believe me, I know how you feel.

However, my wife and I are friends with a couple that have a 12 year-old daughter with terminal cancer and another couple we are friends with are in the midst of a nasty divorce after being married for 18 years. Although I'm disappointed about my bonus, I am choosing to put it in perspective this holiday season and give thanks for the blessings I have.

I don't mean to be-little your situation. I have no doubt that you've earned every penny you've worked for. And indeed, it sounds as if your boss is a real a**hole. I'm just hoping that you find some peace this Christmas season and give thanks for those blessings you do have.
 
I own and operate 3 lube & repair shops . and run 3 others as a partner for an absent owner. and opperations manager for the whole chain ...
 
I may have passed by one of your shops last year on the tour. I took the day off and did the leg alone as I just needed a day. Sorry about whats going on in your life. This economy sucks and Christmas bonuses usually reflect it. I have a job and I am healthy for the holiday season so I cant complain too much. Happy Holidays.
 
last year at x-mas my boss came to me and said things were slow this year so nobody gets a bonus . and by the way if you want to keep your job we need to cut you by 15,000 this coming year . so i cut cost drove in more work got us back on top . so here he comes again tells me this year all the managers will get 50. bucks techs get 25. but we dont have any money for you .. oh and by the way start sending my wife 2000.0 a month next year so i dont have to give her so much nice guy .. forgeting i built this company to what it is today debt free profits in excess of 50,000 year just about what he pays me when i took over ten years ago the company was broke and headed for us bankruptcy court i saved it with 70 80 hours weeks droping from 27 emps to 9 still do more than he ever did before me i am a partner now so he thinks im stuck with him well thats not the case im a partner now right never should of invested so much time effort and money . i get 5 weeks a year vacation havent taken one in 6 years so this is what i did wrote my self a check for my vacation money owed to me and told him go ahead fire me beaatch ill collect unemployment for two years and you will still have to give me some of that money you wanted to go to your wife because im a partner merry christmas hoooooooooe:D

nope not 30 weeks they dont accure.. at the end of the year i and all emps loose them.. company policy.. another way he tries to get over on his emps.. i took 5 weeks ..

Been there & done that. When you see your boss living the good life and spending $ like it's water and bitching about paying you peanuts vs what you deserve it really blows. Get out and find something better if at all possible before he corn holes you and lets you go to replace you with an illegal immigrant!

That's the way of american business. Pay based on growth. If the business stays the same, you make less money. It's a disgusting trend. :mad:
 
Got a great Christmas present this year. My boss (the CEO) who happens to really be a sociopath just announced his resignation (been a two year Twilightzone nightmare).

I've been managaing subordinates for 35 years and I believe there are only two management philosophies "you are looking out for the best interest of your people" or "you are looking out for your own best interests". You can't fake it. If you "do" the first one, you get the second one; but you can't "do" the second one and expect anyhting good to happen.

I don't care so much about a raise for me but my staff (8 people), make $9.50-11.00/hr never miss a day's work (we work 24/7), never late, work well together, I have 0% turnover for 3 years and they do whatever is asked of them. He only let me give them a $.17 raise both last year and this year and he took away their one free meal a day from the cafeteria.

I tried to give one of my guys a promotion within my departments and the boss said "no way he gets the job, I want you to give it to one of my staff". I said "you're gone in a week so I'll just wait". What a maroooon.

Met the new corp VP who seems to be a great guy. I talked to my counterpart where this guy came from and he also says he is a great guy so maybe I can begin make things better for my people.
