Anyone know how to remove the rear seat belts from the sail panels?Did
a search and couldn't find any info.I just finished putting in new floor pans
and want to paint all the trim before reinstalling the interior, but I can't
see a decent way to remove the seatbelt assembly from the panel. Thanks
in advance for any advice.

Brian can you not just un-bolt them? I removed a set from 1 of my '87 GN's this afternoon to get it ready for a frame-off resto. Maybe I'm not reading things correctly, but I've never had a problem removing the int. panels & belts.

Getting the panels out is no problem, but I'm wondering if its possible
to remove the seat belt from the panel ,it seems to be kind of permanent,(the seatbelt runs thru the plastic hole in the panel).Aside from cutting the sail panel or the seat belt,I can't see a way to pull it apart.Hope I'm just missing something.

Oh I see what you're saying now. I don't know of any way to remove them either. That's why I've got 50 or more panels w/belts sitting on a shelf in the building collecting dust!!

Thanks for the reply Michael, I kinda figured they wouldn't come apart
but I thought I would check first.Looks like I will just cover the belts and paint
the panels with the belts in place, just do it in two steps.Thanks.

Believe it or not you can thread everything through that rectangular slot. I didn't think it could be done either until I tried it.

Thanks John, I will give that a try.I didn't look at too closely on sunday,so
I will give it a go this weekend.

You know come to think of it, I believe it will fit thru the slot. That's what happens when you don't mess with your Buicks for several years

Let me know how this works as I have to replace mine too and thought th same that it wouldnt fit through the slot

Thanks for the help everyone!!!!Sorry it took so long to get back to this,
I have been layed up in the hospital for the last 9 days.Just snaked the belts
through yesterday,worked great!!!Thanks again.
