So here in Indiana they have changed the way drivers license are produced. You take all your documnets to the license branch, they give you a hard time, you go back five times with different documents to prove your identity and they take your picture. Now before you would have a seat and 90 seconds later you had your drivers license. Not now, nope, Now after your picture you go home. Then within 10 business days you will receive your license in the mail. BS...... They do not even send it priority. It comes regular snail mail.
So now that my license never showed up, and it mailed out over a week ago, my photo, address birthdate, drivers license number is floating around out in no mans land. To say the least I am pis$ed.
I called the state and was told the change was made to keep your identity more secure. They take your picture and compare it to....... (what I dont know) terrorist I guess. Print your license then mail it to you. I was told it is as secure as getting a credit card in the mail. Um No my credit card doesnt have all my personal information on it. So I told the lady I was mad as hell and she basically told me she did not care and to contact my congressman if I want to complain.
I could go on for an hour about how much thought did not go into this process but I wont. I am law enforcement and deal with identity theft on a daily basis. These theives steal your identity with alot less. Now they are making it easier for them to do it.

Michigan always mailed it later.... as far as documentation, most require at least a birth certificate, good idea to check online or call and see what they require before going since things are always changing nowadays.

From Naptown myself, still have an Indy license, had it renewed a few yrs. back but they never did any b.s. like this.

Gas City if your familiar. Last time I had my license renewed it was not like this either. The secure ID is something they started doing a few years ago. Just kind of crazy they send your license through the mail, you know with all your personal information on it. I called and put a fraud alert on my bureau's yesterday so hopefully i will be notified if somebody tries to be me.

They do that crap in CT too now, just got the notice in the mail.


Fortunately they will also do it the old way too, picture and non-verified license.

It's only supposed to make it easier for you traveling mostly for flying.

You need a ton of documentation, real birth certificate nothing fake like Obama's will do here that's for sure, credit card bills, other ID etc.

I'm gonna do it the old way, photo and give me the plastic quickly.

Yup now the actual BMV you visit to get pis$ed. A person can not even get a registration, a license plate or even the renewal sticker. Everything comes through the mail now. I just do not understand. Oh well the person who ends up with my license and tries to be me is in for a big disappointment.
