I'm ordering a Tial 38 to replace my ATR unit and wanted to make sure I get the right size springs. I want to run it at obut 25psi Max boost. Should I get like say a 14 psi spring and use a controller to bring it uo to 25, or go the whole hog and get a combo of spring for 25 psi?

I'll also be getting a new controller at the same time and am leannig towards the Turbosmart eboost street. any thoughts?

Same setup here

I've been running an ATR dp with the 38mm Tial gate using the ~14 psi spring and an electronic boost controller. This setup has been working great for me. It gives the option to turn the alcohol off and run lower boost if you want. Also, when tuning it's so nice to be able to creep up 1 psi at a time. For instance, when I was at the track last year I ran 21, 22, then 23 psi. Picked up slight knock at 23, so I clicked it back to 22 and all was well. If it's in the budget I'd recommend a boost controller. If not, it would probably be a good idea to order multiple springs so you're not stuck at 25 psi.

???

Why not get a Precision 39mm wastegate that includes all 5 springs? It would be a direct bolt on replacement for the ATR wastegate and you can't beat the price. It has the 15psi springs pre-installed, but it also includes 3 more springs to lower or raise the boost accordingly.

Here is a pic.

This is what I have, with a 15 lb spring, my corrected boost pressure on the xfi read 14psi!

If you buy the tial 38mm gate it only comes with 1 spring and does not come with flanges. The pte gate is the way to go.
