When i start the car i runs little rough at idle and the SES comes on i give it gas and it goes away i suspect it is the maf ? any help would be great

If you don't have a scan tool, just connect "A" to "B" on your ALDL connector, turn the key on (don't start the motor) and count the flashes on your SES light. That will give you the number code of the error. It should flash "12" ( one flash then two flashes....it will do that three times) then will flash the error code if any.
