Not if you live in AZ or IN. With just one post, you've managed to confuse 2 U.S. states who not only hold significant board membership representation but also are home to some integral vendors of the community. Your penance is to go sit on a stump all night and show up for work on Monday morning one hour late. ;)

Already did...

DST was last week for us.. so for this week we've been seven hours ahead of the east coast.

Sun set tonight around 8:30 tonight.. Another few months it'll be 11pm.

Chris,

I remember going through your current location on the way to Bremerhaven. A friend had ordered a brand new Olds Cutlass which was shipped to that port city.

We were in the Neckar Valley about 100 klicks S. of Stuttgart at a tactical NucWpns base just outside of Heilbronn, which was then part of the old FRG.

Does the Univ. of Maryland still have a strong presence in Germany?

I remember April/May being especially nice, and very colorful in what was then a somewhat "gray", overcast country.

I'm sure you're exploring Europe in your off-time & on Holiday.
Nuernberg (Nuremberg), Heidelberg, & Garmisch were favorite week-end excursions in-country. Three days in London was an oft-used antidote to homesickness...it was nice to hear English every few months.

Enjoy your time there! :)

Thanks for the reminder.

Gee everything i would have done tomorrow would have been 1 hour late. :eek: :confused:

Two Lane,

Never knew of a strong U of MD presence here. That's actually strange because I'm from MD. Actually, in this part of Germany there aren't many Americans to be found. I live in a city of about 380,000 and there are probably less then 50 in the city.

Yes, this is a rare time of the year for it to be nice. Especially here... constant rain and overcast. I'm over here teaching English for a few years. It is nice to be able to go anywhere in Germany at very little time or cost. Right now they have plane tickets to London for as cheap as EUR 39. I haven't made it to London yet. Last summer, I went to Paris. Made a weekend trip to Amsterdam. I love that place... Took a road trip to Czech Republic. That was an 'interesting' visit. Odd to be in the former communist block. I've also gone around Germany some, to Bavaria/Austria. Down to the Bodensee and Neuenschwanstein. Been to Berlin.. still looks like it's bombed. :) A lot of rebuilding and reconstruction there. Not sure if you ever made it to the Reeperbahn in Hamburg. There's a fun place on a Saturday night.

Ive learned a lot here... even a new language, but I'll be glad to get back to the ol' USA. Especially in these times..

Bandwidth - isn't it true that Indiana has parts that do go on DLST?

My bro lives in Brookston and d0n_3d lives in Valapraso and part of the year they are on the same time....another part they are not...

Just curious.

From the web:

76 counties (including state capital Indianapolis) are in the Eastern Time Zone but do not change to Daylight time in April; instead they remain on Standard Time all year long;

11 counties -- six near Chicago, IL, and five near Evansville, IN, are in the Central Time Zone and use both Central Standard and Central Daylight;

5 other counties -- two near Cincinnati, OH, and three near Louisville, KY -- are in the Eastern Time Zone but use both Eastern Standard and Eastern Daylight.
