I've read and understand how to set the crank trigger on my SBC for using the FAST ECM. I am still a little confused about how to set the distributor pickup .... I am using a sequential FAST system with the MSD distributor which has a mag pickup on the distributor shaft .... it is made for an EFI system.

Do you want the mag pickup to be lined up exactly with the #1 spark plug at TDC or maybe just a few degrees before TDC?

We set the sync at 70 deg. BTDC. It has a wide window so it dosen't have to be dead on. It just has to happen before the crank pulse.

I'm assuming that is 70 crank shaft degrees BTDC, correct?

Craig or Lance, I remember somewhere that the distributor trigger wasn't really critical, (i.e. needs to be 20-30 BDTC). Is it true that it only needs to be somewhere before the crank pulse for the #1 cylinder?
