I have a new t-handle that I got from a vendor here. A GM one, right from the box. It's just the handle. No guts.

I managed to pry the chromed oval out of the right side of the old one. But how do I get the black oval piece out? The new one just has a skinny stub there.

I haven't gotten to the spring loaded side yet. The old one is off. Taking that off was a no brainer.

Is there a link here as to how to disassemble these things?

Thanks.

I think the "dead" side plug pressed on. You can take a blunt blade (a butter knife) & gently pry the chrome ring off,
& then some needle-nose or reg pliers wrapped w/ tape or cloth & work/wiggle the plug off
(the plastic is somewhat soft & the pliers will mark it if you aren't careful)
I think the "live" side is similar to R&R
