Shifting Problem

My 9k original mile GN seems to be having a shifting problem. From 2nd to 3rd during normal driving the car doesnt seem to shift until I hit about 4k rpm. Is this normal and ideas?

With it happening only on the 2-3 shift, it's likely sticky valvetrain in the Valvebody.

i am having this same issue...nice snappy shift 1st-2nd....then 2nd revs out to like 4k and shifts hard.....what are my options?..drop the pan and valve body, and what section should i look for to clean and inspect?
