Just got back from deployment. Been puttin off gettin a new fridge. The freezer works but the fridge part does net get very cold. It's turned all the way up. Been looking around. Any recommendations on Brand? I have no clue. Did not think choosing a fridge would be so hard.

PS. Hey....Turbo Buick guys gotta keep the beer cold somehow.

Here's a nice one.

I always check out what "CR" says about products before I buy anything of value. So far they have not let me down.

Hey thats nice you are planning to have new fridge. Will you share with me which fridge you are planning to buy.Don't forget to post the pics of it.

my fridgidare sux...stay away...

X 100,000,000!!!!!! Fridgidare appliances suck MAJOR BALLS!!! Quick story, stick with me here. We bought our home 4.5 years ago. The house was only 6 mos old at the time of purchase (so 5 years old total now)

All Fridgidare appliances. To date here is what has happened.

1. The clothes washer... it $hit the bed 1 week prior to closing. So the previous owner had a brand new one bought, paid for, & delivered the day we moved in. It was the exact same unit they had that only lasted 6 MONTHS!!

2. 2 1/2 years later the clothes dryer $hit the bed. We bought a GE.

3. 6 months later the dishwasher $hit the bed. We bought a Whirlpool.

4. 6 months after that, Microwave $hit the bed. We bought a Whirlpool.

4. This last summer ('09) the fridge/freezer $hit the bed. We bought a Maytag

5. Two weeks ago, clothes washer #2 $hit the bed. We bought a GE.

Only GD thing left is the stove/oven (also a Fridgidare!!) & the wife and I are pretty sure that won't make it 'till New Years the way the trend has been.

Digging a 10 ft hole in the ground & turning it into a cooler like the olden days would be better than a Fridgidare.

hello people; I need a new fridge myself and I want counter depth. I've been to lazy to get out and look and I hate looking but sub zero is crazymoney. I'd like to here what people say.

When I was shopping for new appliances, I asked the service techs what I should buy. Nearly 100% said to buy Whirlpool. (Whirlpool also owns Maytag now, I believe). I was told to stay away from Electrolux, Frigidare, Samsung, and LG by the same techs.

Any reason why you don't want to repair your current fridge?

I work on Sub-zero units that can pull down to -70 degrees C in about 20 minutes, You can deep freeze your beer and save it for future generations (I'd recommend drinking it yourself). My maytag has been good so far. GE and Kenmore are good, I like the one thats on sale.
