should the vin be on the tin rivited to the firewall

im pretty sure he knows where the vin tag is i beleive he was asking if it also should be on the cowl tag because im guessing he looked at it and didnt see a vin number anywhere
to answer the OP ...no the vin # is not stamped into the cowl tag
the #s on the cowl tag are RPO option codes , paint codes , interior codes , body # no reference to vin
the trunk label on the underside of trunk lid should have the vin on it , it might not match if the lid was changed or if the vin was changed by the dash
