I noticed sometimes when getting into the boost (building 22 PSI) a high pitched shreiking noise can be heard. I believe it's the turbo but not sure.

It happens when I'm really making boost....like say 22 PSI or better. Below 20 PSI it usually does not do it. It also does not always do it at 22 PSI either.

One thing I've noticed, when it does it, as soon as I let off the accelerator it goes away.

Not sure if it's the turbo or what it could be. I'm running Mobile 1 synthetic if that helps any.

Carefully inspect the compressor inlet, and compressor blades. They may be making contact with the housing.

Mine sounded like a fire engine after something went through the exhaust blades....

Might want to check...

Check to make sure you don't have a leak between the turbo and downpipe. My father's car had a screeching noise once over 5psi. It sounded like a slipping serpentine belt only to find one of the downpipe bolts missing. Once the bolt was replaced and tightened, the noise went away.HTH

I checked the blades, everything looks good, no witness marks, blades aren't bent, even felt the inside of the housing around the blades and they have not made contact.

Thanks, yes mine does sort of sound like a slipping belt. And come to think of it I believe it all started after I put on a used 3 inch THDP. I know I didn't use a gasket. I did tighten all the bolts though, maybe I need to recheck them? Perhaps it's exhaust getting past the DP flage? It only happens sometimes, but only when boosting in excess of 20 PSI.
