shurflo pump question

I have the 8000-543-238 pump (2-3851) which is rated at 100psi. On the pump there is one wire into the controller and then one red wire going from the controller into the pump. I spoke to a tech at shurflo who said that you can bypass the 100psi controller by connecting the red wire to you 12 source.

My question is, has anyone done this, and what is the pressure output with this bypassed? I figure that this will probably even out the flow of the pump since it won't be cycling on and off at all, just either on and off.

Depends on the orfice placed after the pump. You put a really small orfice, 300 PSI is possible with the switch bypassed.

Put a large orfice, like an open hose.. then its not an issue.

If it cycles on/off.. means its hitting 100 PSI. If you dont want it to cycle, dont let it hit 100 PSI.

Reduce voltage to pump, or increase orfice sizing.
