Bought the car with Intrepid/Concorde/LHS cooling fans installed. One of the fans locked up recently and heated up some wiring, both fender relays and the driver.
I have replaced the failed fan motor and the relays, but still have no fan function. I'd almost feel better starting from scratch and wiring the relays with a switch in the ashtray (Fans on when the ignition is on, unless I turn off the control switch).
1. Any issues with taking control of the fans away from the ECM? Or should I buckle down and find the faulty wire / fusible link / fuse?
2. Is it worth having the fans run for, say, 30 seconds after the car is shut off?
TIA
