Skinniest tire I can fit on a 16x8 wheel?

Anyone know what I can safely fit on my GTA wheels? It'd just be for the front. I'm not doing it for that stretched tire look that the tuners seem to love these days, I'm doing it so that my tires don't rub my fenders. I have 1.25" spacers/wheel adapters on my rear GTA wheels up front. In addition to that, they would probably be a little cheaper and it would help with friction for drag racing (very minorly).

When I had GTA's, I ran 225/55R16 up front, looked great, HTH

A 205 is almost 8 inches wide on the dot ( 8.07 ), so that would be my skinnest recommended tire.

I have the stock tire size on my front 8" rims, 215 I think.
