How much clearence do you guys with a slic have for clearence between the steering box pitman arm and the IC? Here's a pic of mine. Obviously I would like more. If I start bending brackets to get some more my turbo outlet to IC inlet angle will get a lot worse.

After some staring today at my setup...I can see my turbo is sitting slightly cocked on the flange it bolts too. The inlet bell is slightly closer to the firewall than the exhaust housing. This does not help the turbo outlet to IC inlet alignment any. I may pull that sucker off and enlarge the holes from 3/8's to 1/2. There appears to be enough meat on the flange for that.

Still not sure about the IC hitting the pitman arm issue yet.

IC to turbo alignment is important. You have to play with the aftermarket IC and brackets some times to get everything lined up. Just takes some patience.

I am finding this out...LOL....I can not push the IC to the left as I already have a pitman arm clearence issue.

It looks like you need to rotate the intercooler a little. By this I mean move the top toward the drivers side and the bottom toward the passenger side. This would require lowering the drivers side mount some and possibly raising the passenger side mount. Also how are the motor mounts they could allow the motor and intercooler to shift.

Motor mounts are new aftermarket replacements put in when I redid the drivetrain in 11/2007. I was thinking about swaping them and seeing if that changes anything...

Intercooler sits square with IC fan so in my book that means it's good. It will only move if I start bending brackets, which I am not a fan of.

If I could rotate it that would aggrivate my turbo to IC inlet problem as well.

Update..good news

:D Evidently I am an idiot. I had my motors mounts reversed. I kept the OEM's cause they were still usuable in a pinch. I pulled off the drivers side(easy) compared it to the orginal and it was not even close. Then I took off the right(needed the wifes's help:eek: ) and sure enough that one looked a lot like the OE left side. I put them on the correct way and the entire drivetrain shifted to the right.

Tommorrow I am going to work on that turbo alignment issue.

My header is off getting welded so maybe Sat I will get her back together and find out for sure.

Most of the aftermarket mounts have a # on them,so if I get confused I can go look it up. These had no marks at all. And you guessed it,I got confused.;)
