Guys i found a great deal on some center line auo drags 8.5 with 5" backspacing just for the track. With my m/t 28x9 et drags they rub the inside frame on both sides. I installed a 1/2" billet spacer, with the gm 3" studs and i do have the aluminum drums. Is this to much of a load on the studs? are we talkin danger here, and has anyone run a simular set up with any problems? shorts should be in the 1.5 range i assume.....

People seem to be able to use spacers with street tires.....but I've heard from a few guys locally who tried them with slicks and broke one or more studs right away. Personally I'd stay away from them.

If you notch the rear frame, you could do away with the spacers. However, you may not be able to install a 10" or greater size tire. Pretty close....

thanks for the advise guys but i already own these rims and would like to make them work in the most economical way possible (with the spacers), has anyone actually run something simular to this and got away without losing a wheel? thanks.
