i got this noise coming from under thje car that sounds like a slight ticking noise. im sure that it is coming from thetrans. does that sound like the pump. also, the scond to third shift doesent feel right. i changed the fluid and there was some metal on the magnet, not tons but it was there. ther was also some swirls on the bottom of the pan that was iguess cluth dust or somthing. the trans is not that old and its been rebuilt three times because the guy that did the work tells me im putting out so much more power that stock. my question is , is this gonna again cost me a arm and a leg.is the trans again going to lunch again. obviously im not going back to the same guy:mad: . just trying to get an idea of what im looking. thanks:eek:

Just to be sure...

It sounds like a converter neck cracked, which is a common deal. However , left alone it can tear up front pump. Now, I am not saying this is it but better to ck and find nothing than to let continue till there is a bigger and more costly problem. The things I would ck first are,

1) converter to flexplate bolts.
2) flexplate itself...
3) Ck the starter snout to flexplate clearence.
4) pull trans, ck converter neck, as if this is it , it lowers pressure and could be your 2-3 softness as well as a number of other things.
5) and I had this in my own car recently, and after 102,000 miles the pump rotor itself cracked. It made a ticking noise so I changed the converter, being it had cracked the neck. I changed converter and it still ticked. So we pulled again and a cracked rotor is what I found. Now most people do not have the options I do, I agree, so why not pull once and ck all.? If you need any other guidence, let me know. But this is where I would start. :D
Happy Easter..
go on an Egg hunt and forget till next week.:)

thanks for the reply, my car is going in the shop today. the guy is rippin the trans out and going through it. this time im having it done by someone that knows what there doing. i talked to one of the guys there and he tells me hes been working on these transmissions for 13 years. he used to work for level 10 but left cause he didnt like the way they wqere doing buisness. just hope we get to the bottom of this cause im sure you agree that it gets old fast when you go through trannys like this, expesive to. also, the person told me that he gets his stuff from someone in california and its not art car, so, he might even be gettin the stuff from you, which i hope, cause it looks like you got your game together when it comes to these transmissions:D thanks and ill let you know what the deal is. jeff
