went to try out my new stroker at a higher boost level and think i might have done my tranny in. well since i put my motor in i only ran it on pump gas at 15psi well yesterday i went and got alky and put some in and put timing at default 23/21 and boost at 22psi with alky on 5.5. eased into it at 30 mph and no knock with wideband tracking at 10.6 was very pleased that it pulled like no other. very hairy!!! then i just cruised it home and 15 miles later i went to pass a car and when it kicked down in 2nd it slipped and revved high then grabbed and barked the tires like a neutral drop. is this the band slipping? sucks because i wanted to run at the track on saturday for the steel valley drags. i guess its the nature of the beast:rolleyes:

When my old tranny did this, I was told there were two possibilities...the high rpm clutch gone bad, or the converter was flaring....ended up being the converter.

Sounds like ....

it's time to call Chris or Lonnie, before you have to call the tow-truck! You can almost purchase a rebuild kit for the price of a tow!
