My tansmission is slipping pretty bad when I'm at WOT and I've heard that type S(maybe not sure) fluid will help out the slippage. Is this true? Also what else colud help? I'm changing the fluid and the filter anything else? Thanks Jerrad

That would probably be type F fluid, but if it is slipping WOT then you are way beyond a fluid change fixing what is going on. More than likely you have smoked the second gear band or the clutches. Pull the pan down and see what the fluid smells like and see how much black soot you have in the bottom of the pan from worn clutches. Let us know.

My dad and I smelled the fluid just by pulling the dip stick and it smell really burnt. Also 2quiktocare last year at the track it was slipping badly but on sat. I went and the first run it pulled like a mad man all the way through but on the second and third passes it felt like after the 1/8 the car almost stopped pulling. my first pass was 12.75 at 107 and the second pass with a better 60 I only ran a 12.97 at 101. Thanks Jerrad

Time to freshen up the tranny. If you keep beating on it slipping the way it is, you are only making it more expensive down the road, especially if you end up cooking some hard parts.
