slow boost

a friend of mine has a gs 2002 i think. he is having problems with boost. he says it takes real long to get to max boost. is this normal or does he have a problem?

i would think its a slipping belt possibly....is the car stock or have mods done to it?

the car is stock. is there any device that bleeds boost off on stock cars incase there is an overboost problem? is there something that could be stuck open?

there is a boost bypass valve infront of the TB...that could be the cause.

I would alos check out his intake/ air filter. Clogged or dirty air filter could also restrict air flow.

Also check some of the vacuum lines, could be leaking going to the gage.
Or is it slowly accelerating also?

I Had A Problem With One Of My Vacuum Lines Breaking Before And Had This Problem It Was Broken At The T Right Under The Nose Drive For The Charger . Made The Car Run Like **** Under A Load
