Hey guys after getting my trans rebuilt I put in a pats 2800/3000 stall convertor in there for my te 44 turbo. The problem is that when I ran with the stock convertor I cut a 1.8xx 60 ft leaving with only 4 pounds of boost and with the new convertor I only cut a 2.1xx leaving with 6 pounds. When I take off the boost builds VERY slow until about 10 pounds then it spools nice and fast. Should I look into a higher stall convertor? Thanks for the help guys

The rated stall speed is great for your turbo set up. The slow spool started right after you installed the converter?

yes. The turbo actually starts to spool sooner than before, but it still takes longer to get to full boost.

since your leaving at different rpms and it spools faster maybe its now a tuning issue with alky or fuel enhancement in the chip

I have the exact same problem.

Do you think I should drop the fuel pressure a little? Whats the "safe" zone at idle and also at WOT? Is it the same as on gnttype.org? thanks for the reply

He put "converter" in the topic, then the rest in the main body of the post. I have a 49 with the Precision housing and mine doesnt act much better than the stock D5. Every once and a while i feel it pull better, but not always. Is there a break in period that needs to be adhered to?

After driving it around a little longer it seems to be loosening up and getting better.
