Just finished installing a new Powerlogger and updating my Scanmaster to the new chip. Powerlogger looks like it's working, according to the laptop readings so far. I haven't started and driven the car yet (maybe tomorrow, weather permitting) but tested it KO/EO.

I did see that the Scanmaster shows SM 2.2 and PL 3.0 when booting. After that, it shows 442 and 0.0 (the dot blinks). I tried cycling through the screens but the left Button doesn't seem to do anything. The right "recall" Button seems to work; screen goes blank while it's depressed.

Any ideas why the left button isn't responding, and why the screen shows 442?

Drove around today and the SM is still not responding to the left (mode) button. It does appear to be working though, as the O2s matched the Powerlogger perfectly.

I may just take it apart and see if I messed it up when I put in the new SM chip.

Edit: I found this post on the Sy/Ty forums (http://www.syty.net/forums/archive/index.php?t-96327.html). Looks like someone else was having a similar issue. Not sure if it ever got fixed.

sounds like the left button may have gotten damaged when you changed the chip.

let me know what you find when you open it back up.

I can fix it for you if the button is damaged.

Bob - Many thanks for the support. I took it apart again and I don't see any bent pins on the chip, nor any damage to the left button or its connections. However, I wouldn't be surprised if I messed it up and just can't see it.

I'll disconnect the wiring and send the SM to you, if that's okay. (What's the shipping address? I ordered it from Full Throttle; not sure if it matters.) It might be a few days before I get a chance to ship it out because I'm going on travel soon and won't have time to disconnect everything until next week.
