Remember reading about using winter win/wash sol in an emergency. Found some at a farm store that goes to -20F. Only water/meth alc, no ammonia!
How much alc. would it take to make the water safe to -20F? Is this close to a 50/50 mix?

Contact Steve. If you put water in the wrong pump, you'll toast it. As his kits have evolved.. so has the pump used. Better be sure what your doing before doing it...

Better to get this type of advice from the source. Once you do so... post your findings so others can learn..

new style

when I installed his system in July, it specified 50/50 mix. Started with that and since watching this forum I've added only Alc. In an emergency I may need to use what's available. Does anyone have an answer to my original question? Is there a formula to determine what percentage alc. would be in this mix? Thanx...

Well!!!

Can anybody answer the original question? If not I'll buy a case and just use it as an additive, and for the washer too.

I doubt the washer solvent is a 50/50 mix. It would be too cost-prohibitive. Mix it yourself, the right way, don't chance it by trying to save some $.
