Once again I come to dip my cup in the well of knowledge! I seem to have trouble with slightly burnt direct clutches in both 350 and 400 trans. I have tried looser clutch clearances, more line pressure, extra return springs, bleed holes in the drum, finally tried rubber spacers made from o-rings to space the clutch plates apart. I had always assumed the slightly burnt clutches were due to cintrifically apply, with all the things I have tried to correct this Im not sure thats the problem. BTW, these are standard auto valve bodies, I always dual feed the direct clutches. The trans all have a very firm shift at wot, never have a complaint with the trans. Just everytime I open one up to inspect I find the directs slightly cooked and hot spots on the steels. Any suggstions as to what I can do different? Thanks!
