Hey guys, the last few months I've been getting a lot of nice blue smoke any time I coast. Nothing to speak of under acceleration, but if I coast down a long hill, I got a big 'ole cloud following me. I tried changing out the PCV valve, no improvement.

100k car. Driven real sweet bone stock for about 92k of those, then I got a hold of it. :-)

It's still only seen maybe 50 track passes, mostly in the 13.2-4 range.

Do you still have the valve cover breather going into the turbo? Or the oil seals are going in the turbo.

The breather is gone. I was wondering about the turbo, and what the symptoms would be. I had discounted it because it was driven so gentle (and the Y was in wrong so it was only boosting to 6-8 lbs) its whole life, but you think that might be it?

Turbo seal, it happened to me last year. Every time I let of the gas a nice puff of blue smoke out the exhaust.

Watch your oil level! It sounds like turbo seals and you could be losing oil faster than you think. Check for shaft play and if you have some, you might be able to have new bearings and seals put in if the blades haven't been rubbing on the housing. Don't put off this fix.

I've got a TE52 on the way, so it won't be going anywhere anyway until that's on, then I'll rebuild the stocker. Sounds like it's easy to do from what I've read on here. Thanks for everyone's input - I like to hear of people having exactly the same experience so it confirms what I'm seeing and believing.

Blue Smoke

Could be the turbo seal or the valve guide seals. Bad valve guide seals will produce the problem you are having oil is being sucked from the heads into the combustion chamber and is burned producing the blue smoke. Have you pulled the plugs to see if they are dirty/fouled?

I've had them out since it started, when I was replacing valve springs. They all looked fine. I hope that's not it since that's a lot harder. I'm doubtful of that a bit because so many others have many more miles, and harder miles, than I do without that problem, but I guess that doesn't make it impossible. Thanks for the suggestion!
