have any of you seen this...

http://www.snowperformance.net/products.asp

i sent them an email asking them what pump they were using, because i was thinking about integrating my SMC kit to use a seperate tank and a pump like the pump they use. i want to run methanol instead of denatured. what do you guys think?

here's the email that i sent, and the response i got.

Godfey,
You are correct - methanol is a better anti detonant(126 octane) and
cools the intake charge better( higher latent heat of vaporization). The
boost cooler is designed to live in methanol with no pump failures to date (
hundredes sold over the past 1.5 years. The SMC kit is incompatible beccause
of the use of brass fittings etc. The kits are in stock. Thanks, Matt

he didn't really answer my question, but i'll find out one way or another.

He's using a shurflo pump, like most DIY setups, pumps work great. You can find the pump at northerntool.com.

Whats up with the brass fittings..thats gotta be BS.

i have no idea. i thought about eliminating the pump in the SMC kit completely and using a different one and running methanol. i've thought about it and it would be fairly simple to rewire and integrate.

Has anyone asked Steve about this? I was thinking about running some Methanol when my denatured ran out, but don't want to kill the pump. Also, what kind of benefits would their 100 psi pump provide, besides better atomization? Also, would it be a direct replacement for the SMC kit pump?

this should answer your question about atomization...

Godfrey,
We use a 2-stage nozzle that spins the fluid then forces it through a
venturi-shaped orfice - atomization is unsurpassed. We also have a new
variable controller that varies the qty injected with boost which results in
full power always. We take all major credit cards.
Thanks,
Matt

as far as the pump being a direct replacement, it won't be. you'll have to do some re-engineering to get to work because the pump will not fit in the tank. i would probably tap the bottom of the tank and run a line so that the pump would draw from the bottom externally.
