Ok so like I said in my intro thread a few days ago I am trying to find a 86-87 Grand National. Well there was one in my town and I called and they said it only had 50k miles on it and when I drove past the fist time it looked good. I finally got my finances together and went to look at it (i printed and took the what to look for when buying a turbo regal with me). It was an 87 and the paint was not too bad with the exception of a few long scratches. I could not see any rust and looked under the car where there was none there also. The car started going down hill when the guy told me he would not let me test drive the car. I then discovered that the RPO sticker was gone and nowhere to be found. The mileage was off and the engine was "new" according to one guy and "rebuilt" to another. I had the guy start it and he had to apply gas which I know is a no no and then the car idled but then started idling higher. I believe the RPM guage was messed up because it was lit all the way into the redline even though the car's rpms were not at that level. Then I discovered the RAT POOP that was everywhere in the back seet and on the floor. This is what pushed me over the edge because I do not want any other passengers in the car except a human. Soooo I left very disappointed. I still REAAAAALLLLLY want a Grand National and my search continues. Hopefully the next one I look at will be better. Anyways my rant is over haha.

You need to drive a nice stock GN that isn't for sale so you can see what one in good condition is like.

Patience Grasshopper! You did the right thing walking away from that one. Take your time and do your homework. You will know when you find the right one for you. Buy the lowest mileage one you can afford and try to get one that does not need any bodywork.

I dont get it? Have you checked the for sale section? There are a dozen cars better then that one for sale right now.
