Was it from filling the cyl with too much alky off the rev- limiter cause the trans wouldnt shift, or a bad (badarse) valve that went out and planted itself into a piston.?

Probably about 250 passes.... Moderate/ alot of street pleasure....

Stage 1 block, look for the rust.

It was under a load, never hurts to look that far upstream so your right i will call him and let him know.
Turbo is definite, block, piston, head, valves... even better the trans too...

Sad it was running so good on pump gas and meth, almost got into the 9s in a 100% fat limited on radials.

We will find out here shortly :)

Holy crap! My dog saw the pics and he ran off with his tail between his legs!

I didnt think it was THAT bad!!

that looks eerily familiar to a piston that a buddy of mine had when i worked in a dealership. 68 chevelle with a 540, low 9's! what happened to him was that he broke a retainer, chrome-moly, and the valve took a detour to the cylinder:eek: he now hates chrome moly and will only use titanium retainers.

Only if the core is good, hopefully that goes back together soon.

So hydrolock or what?

BW

You would bend/break a rod if it was hydro.

Sounds like retainer dropped or piston to valve clearance wasnt there.. over rev.. rod stretches a little.. piston hits valve.. breaks it.. rest is history.

So the chicken egg scenario is did the piston hit the valve cuasing it to snap off and this the damage or did it happen from the valve breaking/snapping and dropping in the cylinder?
