I know its redundant, but whats the correct way to set the cam sensor? After disconnecting the orange wire or battery terminal. And after you find 25 deg ATDC, using a piece of tape 1.45 inches. When the cam sensor is losened, do you have to turn it clockwise before turning it counterclockwise? The electronic tool says turn it 1/4 turn clockwise before turning it counterclockwise. The sticky at the top of the forum doesn't mention turning it clockwise at all. The voltage has to go from a higher measured value to a lower value to know the voltage is dropped. I have read the procedure lots of times but every post is different. Also, you can cheat when you get it close, cant you? Just by moving it very little to find the sweet spot? Normally how wide is this "window?"
Any thoughts?

Some insight

Open up your camshaft sensor... take a look inside it. That is the amount of latitude you have in adjustment.

Some will swear that there is a sweet spot to be found in moving it (sorta like moving your distributor to advance or retard timing). I have found it is either on... or off. You either have it on so the car will run... or you don't have it there at all... and it won't start.

I have cheated for years with a Casper's cam shaft sensor tool. It has made this process so "easy" in figuring out that I no longer sweat it.

I am sure others will have their take on moving the sensor one way or the other... I get the Casper's tool to light up, and then I go left and right with it both way till it shuts off on both ends of the spectrum and then try to find that "middle" point.
