OK lets break this down

SRT4 VS GN

1. Performance.... dollar for dollar not even close .... GN hands down by a mile... RWD gives it a huge advantage also

2. Handling .... You can make a GN handle for less dough than a new SRT4

3. Coolness factor and looks... Its not even close.... more people will gather around a cool GN than a neon any day of the week

4. Value... A sharp good looking GN will holds its value waaaayyy better than a new SRT4

5. Fuel mileage... well .... I guess the neons gotta be better at something....;)

i don't think anyone answered your question of how fast you could run with an extra 12,500.

theres a lot of ways to look at this. with the money you have you could probably go out and buy a nice low 10 sec. gn maybe into the 9's and have plenty of money to spare.

but if you buy a stock one or close to stock, $12k would probably get you into the 10's depending on what else the car needs.

Ohhh one thing I forgot to add.

Any chick who thinks a neon is cooler than a GN should be given a one way ticket to dumpsville. nuff said....;)

I don't know about leaving the SRT standing still.
My son put a K&N cold air intake,David Buschur exhaust, and a Stage 2 e.c.m. on his 04 SRT.about a thousand dollars total. The car ran 12.84 at 105 mph with 15 pounds of boost and pump gas.
The SRT responds to tweaks as well as any turbo car.
