Looking at the way you have them wired, you should probably swap 6 with 2. The three coils fire in sequence, each fires two plugs one compression, one exhaustt. The firing order is supposed to be 1-6-5-4-3-2. The pairs are 1-4, 6-3, and 5-2. But, if the cam sensor is 120° off, (240° crank advanced) the firing order will be 5-4-3-2-1-6 which is the way it appears to be wired, except for the crossed 6 and 2.

Hope this helps.

I really think BWD has it, I'd bet that your cam sensor is way out and the wires are in an order that will allow it to run. Suggestion, start from scratch. Take the cam sensor out, bring the #1 piston to TDC on compression, put cam sensor back in and follow directions on proper installation. See below:
Cam Sensor
Wondering aloud here........if timing chain was installed incorrectly during rebuild, could the wires be modified to allow the engine to start and run?? Dunno?

thanks for all the help, after reading all this, im going to proceed with resetting the cam sensor. sounds like the best and only solution.
