i have a buick regal with 8 speaker monsoon stereo "concert sound" and i don't know what size speakers ALL of them are. I would like to replace the complete system (cd player, speakers, the whole nine yards) but I'm not sure what i would need. also, would any cd player still hook up to my steering wheel-mounted controls.

what year regal yours is would help determining speaker size.

if all those speakers run off the stereos' amp....you wont be able to replace with aftermarket stereo without some creative wiring.see your local stereo specialists for help.

you can run an aftermarket stereo.

no aftermarket stereo will work with OEM steering wheel controls.however, there are adapters you can purchase that will interface the SW controls and the new stereo.make sure you pick a new stereo that has a wireless remote. it is needed to program the interface.like stated before, this isn't a simple radio and four speaker setup....seek advice/help from a specialists.....HTH

Guys a little help, whats the biggest size of speakers that anyone has been able to place on the doors (concert sound)? is the only issue the mounting depth?

good question

im about to dropp a system in my gn , i was wondering the same thing, i thought i read somewhere that the issue is the mounting depth on the door panels (2.5 inches) is this correct? im personally doing 3 way 4 inch in the dash pioneer and pioneer tweeters on the doors driven by the premier radio. 5.25 in doors and 4 way 6x9 in the trunk drivern by an amp. also a single 12 L7 . wanted to port into the car cabin, but not sure i want to cut alot on the gn. i need to know the necessary dept for the door speakers so i dont get something too big (magnet)????

Turbo98 there is a easier way to run your system just run it like the factory did. Get a component set and put the tweeter in the dash 5.25 in the door 4x10 to 6x9 adapter in the rear. So you dont have to cut anything this is how i have my car setup sounds excellent. Im running all phoenix gold xenon speakers all around.on one 4 channel amp.

Fyi

just as an fyi , I wasnt aware of this. I bought the concert sound panels bc my gn didnt bring this option. I put in 5.25 pioneer premier components, with 2.25 mouting depth, but my doors dint have the cut out for the speakers????
The driver door was easy s the window motor was no where near, just cut out the opening and that was it. the passenger door was a bit more of an issue as the window motor was right in the way. it was a tight fit, i had to cut off a little ear off the window motor (without removing it) and the speaker fit.

left the 4" inchers driven by radion on the dash, used 6 x 9 adapters in the rear. if the magnet on the 6x9's are big(my case) they actually are pushing on the trunk bars. If youre thinking about going to 6x9 , the car sounds better, much better than the 3 way 4x10's i had in there before (even without the amp)
