I dunno but that's the way they should be. I had one of the dog dish style ones years ago and kept running out of fuel on hard acceleration if I let the level get down to like 1/4. I switched to a GM tank soon after.

you best stay with gm tank,it works better.the differents is in baffling, cuts down sloching of fuel that neans no air pockets.

My buddy bought that very same tank from Tamraz last year works perfectly. Easy to install. He put it in his 87 T.

Im not sure where the difference is but I got that same tank mentioned above from rockauto and the pan inside does not look like that. Do you have any more pics of it? Rockauto also dropped the price too since then...

I ran a pie pan aftermarket tank for 12 years in my WE4 daily driver, never had an issue racing or driving on the street cornering etc.

Been just about dry a couple of times too. :p

Just my .02.

I'm getting tired of this damn gas tank, first one leaked, second one (Used) worked for a few months, leaked:mad: Now I go and buy one from NAPA, part number Spectra 307C, has the small dish in it. I just picked it up this week. $200 for anyone that wants to know.

Funny thing, I ask about the baffel and the NAPA guy called and they said it had one. I don't know if he called the company or what, however, when it arrived small dish.

Should I send it back, maybe it's is old stock? I just want a non leaking tank that works.

Somtimes what appears easy, turns out to be a PITA.

Thanks,

Rich

Yea, like I said, thats how mine came, 307C, from rockauto, but it works fine for me, same situation as salvageV6, no problem with it. If you got it, use it. Because I don't think that pic in the first post is accurate, IMHO.

Ths picture is accurate. I have the same tank and it looks just like that one.

I'd say use the one you have, they both should work fine.

They are about almost gallon less than the factory tank however.

I'd paint it and then coat it with undercoating.

Took 12 years for mine to get a small rusty spot on it where a rock hit it hard and made a dent that removed the paint and undercoating.

All the tanks are easy to repair/solder if the hole and rust isn't too big an area.

I've raced with mine with 5-6 gallons or so fuel with no issues.

I don't lift the wheels however on launch. :p
