Speedometer Cable broken??

Speedometer Cable broken or VSS?

My Digital Speedometer is no longer working...just reads 0...Scanmaster also reads 00. First I think I can hear the cable trying to turn....but went away...speedp still reads 0. Got a Code 24 but went away after shutting off engine.

Could it be VSS

Any links as to check and or remove.

I need Speedo help too...

My '87 GN with Analog speedo just did the same thing. See below:

My analog speedo on my '87GN has stopped working. I have only had the car 5 months and it has only about 7,000 miles on it. Due to my job I have only been able to drive the car twice with 5 months in-between drives, so the car sits for long periods of time, and with only 7,000 miles on it in 17 yrs it has sat still alot for most of its life. I can hear the speedo cable try to turn by the pop-pop-pop noise.

Is my speedo cable broken? or does it simply just need lubrications?
