I need a favor.
Can someone look under their car and check to see if the speedometer cable is routed to the inside of the frame or does it go to the outside, around the # 2 body bushing.
The reason I ask is I put in new upper and lower body bushings this past winter and now my speedo has the bounce syndrome. I lubed the upper and lower sections today and it's better, but I remember moving the cable when I did the bushings.

TIA
Matt

Inside the frame on every TR I've seen. The cable was originally anchored to the crossmember with a metal clip and self-tapping bolt.

Thanks Jimmy

Yeah, it's still mounted to the crossmember with the clip. What I meant about the inside or outside of the frame was, where the cable enters the frame by the crossmember and starts to head up towards the inner fender well ( by the master cylinder ) does it stay to the right side ( inside ) of the # 2 body bushing or is it on left side ( outside )

Thanks,
Matt

To the inside. If you are still running the Powermaster than the cable should be on the bottom of the PM. I run the cable on top of the booster when converting them to vacuum.

Thanks Eric
Thats what I was looking for. I still have the powermaster so the cable runs in front of it, between the reservoir and PM motor.
